Although already gorgeous in its original architecture, Jona brought a grand sense of French elegance to this 1870s Italianate mansion interior that still needed some fine-tuning.
Working with some of the homeowners’ Parisian antiques and finds from their travels, it all came together beautifully like pieces of a puzzle that told this family’s story.
For a modern interpretation, Jona mixed in Barbara Barry, Italian Rococo and 18th-century French antique furnishings throughout. Some of the highlights include the soft petal-themed master suite with sumptuous draperies, inspired by the fabric of a smoky lilac Jimmy Choo shoe belonging to the homeowner, and the young daughter’s sweet “Bunny Business” toile bedroom reminiscent of a ballet slipper. One of Jona’s favorite pieces in the entire home? The custom chaise lounge she created for her client based on the little girl’s hand-drawn sketch.
